This doesn't even take into account Gary's thought that
this last quarter was dressed up in sacrifice of the next.

In such case b/b should be significantly less then one, but was slightly above one.
Also in Europe August was dead month, and Q3 and Q4 are always strongest one IN US,EU and others part of world.

But everything is just guess.

If I was a company purchasing NN products, or contemplating purchasing NN products, I would give serious thought to delaying these purchases. I would also give serious thought to going to other vendors if possible.

When GEC/Marconi purchased Fore Systems, Fore Systems had not been in the habit of issuing profit warnings, there were not operational issues, there were not senior managers leaving. Its not like there were concerns about the viability of Fore. Relative to NN, it is hard to believe that NN's vendors have not been reading the headlines. NN stated that current quarter results were adversely affected by a drop in US sales. Didn't NN say that customers were waiting for the 50 gig switch? Who knows if that claim is totally correct. It is clear that NN is losing market share to Lucent, either due to the unavailability of the 50 gig switch, or NN really cannot compete against Lucent. If I was a vendor, I would have serious doubts about NN, but the only way to know is to see the current quarter results. On the other hand, NN had better start announcing some major contracts, soon. And I don't mean any of those nonsense contracts to Monaco.
