Yes, it sounds like more of the media's take on Euro supremacy. If only we could have the government tell us what to do and what products to use, everything would be just so great. Why worry about this CDMA stuff when the Great Government could dictate we use GSM!!!

There is a big difference between video compression and data compression.

Really? Or are you referring to the difference between lossy and lossless compression?

Anyway, as far as I can make out they have the capability to aggregate two channels to give 28.8 kbit/s before compression.

My purpose in posting is not to denigrate CDMA which I think is a very good system, but to curb some of the extreme and (IMHO) inaccurate statements made about GSM.
