Hi John,

Samsung started sampling (with an announced, exceptionally long lead time) 1Gbit SDRAM a year ago:
sec.samsung.co.kr

and will be sampling 1Gbit DDR by the end of this year:
samsung.com

Both for mass production next year. I would expect Rambus to be at 1Gbit no more than a year later than that, probably sooner, and well before 2003. (of course, I don't expect them to be very successful selling it, but that's a completely different issue)
