Colleen, I’m not entirely certain that the main-stream media are taking into account the public apprehension or fear when they fail to cover specific crimes. These types of incidents are becoming more and more prevalent in the United States. I believe that this crime constituted a “hate crime” and should have received the same degree of coverage as that of the Matthew Shepard murder in Wyoming or the James Byrd dragging death in Texas. These people were obviously attacked because of their race.
