Since there doesn't appear to be any specific bad news that would cause the stock to drop, and since many other tech stocks were weak as well, the drop may be due to the latest data on durable goods, which showed weakness in demand for electrical and electronic goods. Of course, the data are so course that they don't differentiate between computers, telecommunications, semiconductors, etc. And many portfolio managers are content to make specific buy/sell decisions on the broader data, even when it may not apply to a specific stock. Well, it just creates another buying opportunity for those who have long term horizons.
