Hi Chris,

Why do some Christians falsely believe that there is no place called hell?

Are there any Christians(followers of Christ) that really believe there is no hell? I don't know any.

But I WILL say this. The pendulum did swing and you know how it swings...one extreme to the other. Certainly God knows our weakness. The reason I say that is because growing up, ALL I heard was hellfire and damnation and you better get right or God'll get you on and on and on...that to me is the pendulum to the far extreme. Now it has swung. Certainly hell is real and certainly to be avoided at all cost(which was the cost paid at the cross) and certainly we preach it, BUT I did not grow up knowing God,,, only hell...am i clear or just rambling. NOW people want to hear of the Love of God which is just as real as the terribleness of hell. BUT.. I want to be with God now for eternity because I love Him for His majesty, and power, and strength, and willingness to give all to me, not just because I am afraid of hell. So I believe when the pendulum settles, both will be there to teach with.

Jesus was faithful in telling more about the consequences of rejecting God than of the glories that await the overcomers.

Yes, and as he walked on this earth, the blind man said this about Him:

Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples. We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is. The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.

Praise God.

Can anyone fathom the love of God?

We hear so much about the love of God but do any really understand it? Some to a degree, but nobody, even if given all eternity could possibly comprehend the depths of it all.
The angels must be amazed that after expelling satan and his followers God would robe Himself in flesh in order to redeem fallen man! Does he hate the sin of mankind? Yes with an eternal vengence! So why would he condescend so low as to dwell among that which he despises? Oh! because His love is so great that not even His wrath against that which offends His Holiness could prevent His love from reaching out to restore "His Cherished"! Man is the only creature in all His creation which was formed in his image! But so few are saved, can God not restore all of sinfull man? He has already known, even from before the foundation of the world those who would be the beneficiaries of His redeeming grace.
Well then, will any stand before God and say, I was lost because you chose not to choose me? Never, never, never ever will that excuse work on God. I already know that Gods answer will be to that sinner, "I never refused you, it's you who refused me".

Chris
