Barry, I can't answer the last paragraph of your post, but will attempt to find an answer.

While on one of the DEJA threads I did find a poster that said he just received his RDRAM based system from DELL today! All five that had been ordered. Obviously they are shipping before 12/15 which would be great news. Here are his exact words:

I have to believe he's been bullish on Rambus because he has been bullish for quite a while on Intel. They tend to go together on those two. How's that for a well researched answer! I'm sure one of the local Rambi will come up with a better one. Rambus Getting near Zeev's buy range.

OT, thanks for the link to Gilder. Sounds like he tramps around some of the same tech woods I do.
