Most of the players of AMKR are institutional, who are supposed to be in the know. According to my communication with one of the very respected and influential analysts on Wall Street:

The reason why Amkor has been quiet lately is that many investors are waiting to see the results of the company's discussion with Anam to buy the remaining facilities of Anam. We believe the company will not take on any
incremental debt and the deal will be accretive to earnings. However, many are sceptical and waiting to see what happens before adding to positions. We think these questions will be answered before the end of the year.

I agree with this analyst for at least two reasons:

1. The investors of Anam is very clear that if AMKR can acquire Anam at a reasonable price, the run up of stock price of AMKR will more than reimbursing any costs they paid before.

2. The Kim family used to own 65% of AMKR and 40% of Anam, and he may now own even more AMKR vs. Anam. With 65% vs 40%, it easy to figure out that for every dollar Anam gains against AMKR, Kim would lose 25 ½.

The other benefits of the deal should be self-explained.
