RFMD Expands CDMA Offerings
11/22/99 Over the past year, RF Micro Devices, Inc. has ramped up its
production efforts in the wireless market. The Greensboro, NC-based RF
manufacturer intends to keep that pace alive. In a release today, RFMD has
introduced the RF2668, an integrated CDMA/FM transmit modulator, IF
automatic-gain control (AGC) amplifier, upconverter, and phase-locked loop
(PLL).

Designed for the transmit section of dual-mode cellular/PCS CDMA handset
designs, the RF2668 modulates baseband I and Q signals, amplifies the resulting
IF signals, and performs the final upconversion to UHF. Operating from a single
+2.7 to +3.3 VDC power supply, the component offers a 95 dB gain control range
as well as noise figure and third-order intercept (IP3) specifications that are
compatible with the IS-98 standard CDMA cellular communications.

The RF2668 is one part of RFMD's new CDMA chip set, which also includes the
RF2667 CDMA/FM receive IF AGC and demodulator. Manufactured on an
advanced 18 GHz silicon bipolar process, the RF2668 is offered in a 48-lead
plastic LQFP package. It is priced at $4.13 per unit in order quantities of 10,000
or more. For more information on this product, contact RFMD at 336-664-1233 or
