Roger (off-topic): Well, if I could step into the wayback machine and do it over again, but without any guarantee that things would play out as they have, I still wouldn't have loaded up on these wunderkind. The recent unpleasantness has taught me a hard lesson in the virtues of diversification; fact is I've built my wealth largely on the backs of just two core holdings (plus two others that were held for much shorter periods but did extremely well nonetheless). Problem is, every time I really look at diversifying, I just can't seem to find anything more attractive than the ones I've got. Suggestions gratefully accepted.

Perhaps I'm just not hip, and I don't resent any investors who're making money in these .com stocks, but I can't shake the feeling that a terrible fate will eventually befall their shareholders; call it the revenge of the old economy. The silicon valley purveyors of these new-economy wonders are laughing all the way to the bank. It saddens me to think that a lot of hard-working folk from the generation just before mine might have their retirement years diminished so that gen-x'ers here in the valley can drive fancy cars and live in million dollar homes. I hope I'm wrong.
