Could just as well be in need for $ for EDGE? yes, they could, if EDGE works. I do not remember if Dr. IJ said which of the CDMA data capable upgrades could work alongside non-CDMA systems. Was it iX, HDR or both. If 1X can be used for data alongside TDMA for voice, CDMA could be a viable option for T. Among the issue are the cost of an EDGE upgrade vs. upgrading to add CMA for data. Unfortunately, being "technologically challenged", these are only speculations.
