Last year's earnings negative, with the huge write-offs are probably discouraging some investors from jumping in on TMR. Nothing like looking at a new "investment" and seeing EPS at -$4.00! That will scare away alot of people.

I think the stock is very attractive at $4/sh. Dipped my toe in the water at $4 yesterday.

Thanks for all the discussion on TMR.

Have a happy Thanksgiving all!

Michael

Will higher crude prices improve OEI's earnings? Yes and bigtime!

Given third quarter sales of $214 million and assuming 60% of that was derived from crude sales, OEI would be deriving $128 million of revenue from crude; at $19/barrel (a ballpark guess) - that would mean OEI is selling about 6 1/2 million barrels/qtr of crude. OEI's hedge of 5600 barrels/day would amount to about 504,000 barrels/qtr while of some consequence, would not be substantial.

Third quarter NYMEX crude averaged $21.71 and so far fourth quarter NYMEX is averaging slightly more than $23.50 - an increase of $1.79/barrel A fourth quarter increase of $2/barrel on 6 1/2 million barrels would translate into an increase of $13 million on the bottom line. A fourth quarter increase of $3/barrel on 6 1/2 million barrels would translate into an increase of $19.5 million. Now add in severe cost cutting measures, higher natural gas prices, and reduced interest payments.

Third quarter: $28.8 million, 17 cents/share (actual result)
Fourth quarter: $50 million+, 30 cents/share

The Gameboy estimate
