OLa Carolina! I put this in CSCO RThread.
re: ericy openess: I have been kicked out of this Thread more than one time by suggesting ericy is a good match for
CSCO. (I'd love ericy to get rid of their datacom dog)

Here in Europe convergence is not between data networks vs voice networks. It's between fixed networks vs mobile
networks.

Operators will port those users that generate low revenue to mobile networks and put data on top of the wired
networks to increase revenue. So, the operators would still be offering public service to that old lady that leaves in the
country side and get down to business for the next next gen networks that elmatador keeps druming here.

My analysis of Iridium back in 1987 was that Iridium should be low cost voice only service and fixed, ground based
newtorks would be used for data. It is going to happen, but not using satellite based networks, it is going to be using
GSM.

I can't resist tapping my own back: My problem is to be right too early.
