DJ, I honor you!

Clearly, the magically coke bottle is the issue. If only it were that simple!

I've noted to several folks over time, and bunches of dollars, that I know no TA method of playing CSCO. The best I can figure is that you wait for a 20% decline in price and then buy it. It just goes up!

But, the magic Coke bottle assumes two directions -- up and down. We've definitely got sideways to contend with, and CSCO will see the day. To some extent, it gets back to the issue of which is more important, the entry or the exit. I suggest that the magic Coke bottle only works if the entry point is correct.

I've got a tax client that has a bunch of AOL at a tax basis of about $2 from two years ago. Does he cry when the price goes down, you better believe it. Do I get excited; I think not. Was he skilled in his choice -- hardly. However, I got to hand it to this dude in his late 70's for his pick, and for holding it. I only have to deal with his crying over the $100K tax bill for selling half of his position last month. Where is my violin when I need it? The tax bill is a multiple of the original investment.

The sad part of it is, he will never enjoy it. I keep trying to tell these folks that there is a reason that hearses don't have luggage racks. One of my dear, dear clients died this past weekend. He was one of the last ones off Bikini atoll before they blew it, and was one of the most intelligent individuals that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Yet, despite a considerable sum in the "bank", his wife was complaining a few years back because he indicated that reupolstering the dining room chairs was an unnecessary expense. I bet they get their makeover very shortly.

So, considering the magic Coke bottle concept, what is the entry point on CMB?
