"Here is and example of a Dell Computer with 1 year free @HOME internet!"

Hi Jay- I think this is a great way to make @Home visible to consumers via the purchase of a DELL or CPQ. It makes me wonder though, who is paying for the installation and covering those monthly fees? Do the box makers cover a portion of the costs? How does this affect @Home's revenue numbers?

AT&T@Home is advertising big time in my area. New commercials offering free installation and a free month of service. It's nice to not see that same ole commercial comparing the difference between the speed of a 28.8 and broadband. That was getting old.

All this advertising has got to be bringing in subscribers. @Home is ending the year in excess one million. Surely a goal for next year would be 3 million? More? I have seen so many numbers, my mind's a blur. The BEST thing I like about @Home is the cancellation rate. Unless a person switched to DSL (which is not available in my area) why would a person drop @Home and go back to dialup? The broadband drop rate % has got to be minimal. I could only see the issue being price. Someone has money problems and drops what they feel they can survive without. I think I would eliminate milk and bread first.

I am looking forward to a few days off. It has been a long year with the kids. No sick days or workshops, and I'm chomping at the bit. I'm ready for some pheasant and deer hunting! No turkey hunting until spring.:0)

Have a nice Thanksgiving!
