Richard, I didn't quite understand you message but you may have the "VIX/Market Direction" backwards. A low VIX reading, like 20, indicates a possible market top and a high VIX reading, like 30 or so, indicates a possible market bottom.

For example, on July 16, 1999, the market topped and the VIX bottomed out at 17.70. On October 18, 1999, the market bottomed and the VIX topped out at 35.48 the on Oct. 15.

There is an inverse relationship between the VIX and the market.

Tightening bands portend to greater volitility, this is the tightest pinch of the bands this year, the next tighter pinches were at the Yom Kippur spx triangle center on sept 20, at the july top and the april top.
