They claim to have updated their web page today, however the only difference I can find is on the performance of their LiPoly battery. It now claims

"Cycle Life: More than 300 charge/discharge cycles at 100% depth of discharge at both the C rate and the C/5 rate to 80% of rated capacity." I believe that it use to say 500 charge/discharge cycles. This is an interesting claim because they have publicly announced that they are using Co instead of Mn and all the specs on their web page are for Mn.

I called Pete Comerford and asked him why they had switched to Co and he said that they got a lot more performance from Co than Mn. I asked if they could go back to using Mn without infringing on Valence's patients? He believes they could without infringing. I asked if Valence filed a claim against them for sell LiPoly with Mn in 1997 and 1998? He said no they did not.

I found Pete very straight forward and easy to talk to. He does not believe that they will be making a LiPoly contract announcement this year. The LiPoly batteries at the Comdex show were from Japan. He believes that ULBI will be a player in the LiPoly market.

One interesting rumor from Yahoo that maybe driving price.
