I have several joint accounts with sh.term gains from IPO trades this year. How do we (the joint account holders) split our gains for tax reporting purposes? Can I, for example, pay the taxes on ALL the gains, if I so choose? Or, does the code require us to recognize the gains equally and share the tax liability evenly?
