Doug,

Re:"is 750 a 0.18 micron part"

Here's a story on AMDs introduction.

eetimes.com

In addition Gateway is introducing Athlon parts on Monday.

Short term looks very good for AMD.

It looks like its 0.18 micron process is yielding well, and the Athlon CPU is very scalable and high preformance.
And Flash has been an incredible bonanza shoring up the bottom line.

AMD however has failed to introduce the Athlon Ultra in Q4 as originally promised as well as a 2 way system. So they are nowhere in the commercial space still. And their big risk with Dresden and cu processing is an unknown variable.

However their approach of adding 64 bit extensions to the Athlon core and doubling up the CPU's on a chip via sledgehammer may be a real winner in the server space.

I think prospects for both companies are great at least thru Q2-Q3 2000.

Just my 0.02.

regards,

Kash
