Badkarma, Yes, I have read a bit on near death experiences. Also on UFO abductions. Also on anything weird anywhere. I try to find things that cannot be explained to see what people attribute them to. This in itself tells more of the human spirit than most things. I find it interesting that in almost every "miracle" some higher power is "blamed" as the source. I say blamed because it could be the result of some other "higher power". It's interesting to think that there is one higher being, and then think - well, who/what made it? It's a circular arguement man will NEVER EVER EVER know the answer to... we must have faith, because we have reason. If we did not have reason we could not fathom even the little bit of God(s) we have tried to. I've read the post you've been sending and infer from them two curious things: 1. you're all for equal rights for everyone... and you'd really not like to draw the line anywhere. 2. you think that even as a guide the Bible must be flawed, since its followers are so flawed. I do not concur with either of these. However, I am willing to give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's. This means that I have come to understand "give unto satan what is satan's"(as no doubt the original text would have liked to have read). I do not condemn Homosexuals simply for the fact that they are "different". I even have a few friends who are different in this manner. I am under the realization that I cannot change someone's gender preference by pontificating. Nor does it help my "cause" to even make this an issue, which gets overheard by my children. What I do think is wrong in your conclusion that persicution of persons which have different views is wrong is that you fail to draw a line. Do we stop at homosexuals? Well then, why not let killers go free? Why not thieves? I mean I could see an arguement for killers - they actually violate someone else's right to life. But thieves only steal "property" and do no real damage to someone's life force. It is the same way when you have found out that your child has announced they are gay. You feel like you have been robbed. Robbed by a choice which was made public as "an acceptable option". But it is not acceptable that something be taken from you (namely grandchildren, your family line, social acceptance, and how many other things?). Regardless of what BV would spout, I believe love is a choice. A decision. By eliminating the options you make the decision easier. This is what all laws do. They eliminate the bad option by pointing out "no, no, this is the consequence." You still have the choice, but you have to pay the consequences. If a four year old knows that being gay is not ok, they are less likely to ponder it. This is much the same way that I did not ponder driving until I was 16. It simply was not an option (ok this is a bad example because I've been driving since I was 12 or so, but you get the point - It was only tractors and on our own property with cars, etc...). On the second point; just because I cannot follow the law does not make the law flawed. As for being able to own slaves; what is wrong with it? God did not tell them to treat them as property did He? He set out a specific way in which they were to be treated... which ironically was better (or at least the same) as any other JEW! This was whether they were Jewish or not! But the Jews didn't really follow this is your point... why does that make the Bible wrong???!!! As for the prostitution; refer to what laws are for above... -maouse
