12/9/99 - Favourable Lithologies Confirmed Lac Rocher

NOVAWEST RESOURCES INC. ("NVE-V;NVWRF-L") NUINSCO RESOURCES LTD. ("NWI-T;NUIRF-L") - Favourable Lithologies Confirmed - Lac Rocher

Frank P. Puskas, Director of NovaWest Resources Inc. (the "Company") announces that analytical results from representative grab samples
collected in the company of Nuinsco Resources Ltd. support the Novawest/Goldeye conclusion that the Salamandre and Ouagama claim holdings of
Novawest/Goldeye are highly prospective for sulphides rich in Ni-Cu-PGE-Co.

This conclusion is additionally supported by all data released to date by Nuinsco on its discovery body (and presumed feeder).

A sample traverse was carried out across the property-long, linear, feeder-like body at Lac Salamandre on outcropping immediately east of the Novawest/Goldeye claims; the body measured
approximately 3/5 km. in width (ie: two to three times the width of the Nuinsco discovery body along their 12+00N section).

Significant results are as follows:

- The entire body is fresh undeformed olivine pyroxenites, indicative of a post-Archean, presumably Proterozoic, age

- The olivine pyroxenites are representative of group two, low Al2O3, komatiitic magma which is strongly depleted in Ni. Ni depletion is a feature known to occur peripheral to orthomagmatic
sulphide deposits rich in nickel

- The presence of a marginal, non to weakly magnetic, autobrecciated facies with fragments or autoliths of pyroxenite, weight percent MgO up to 17.9

- The presence of relatively minor veinlets of felsite, a local feature presumably reflective of country rock melting;

- The main body is magnetic; MgO values in weight percent ranged from 16.2 to 29.8, with Ni values up to only 822 ppm

- Presence of a few mm. specks of interstitial, primary sulphide (pyrrhotite)

A geophysical follow-up program (both airborne and ground) has been proposed with obvious attention directed to magnetic high areas with coincident government airborne EM anomalies.
Novawest/Goldeye have received two proposals from Nuinsco Resources Ltd. regarding Nuinsco's interest in optioning the Novawest/Goldeye Lac Roche assemblage, however both
proposals have been declined. TEL: (604) 683-8990

Not quite sure what this all means, but so far the market doesn't think much.
