Thanks Ernnie by yor frend Jed Lots of tings happon on Thanksgiving. Turkeys get cooked, famalees get 2gether but mainlee we give thanks on Thanksgiving n dats whut I wood lik 2 do. I'd like to giv tanks for Ernnie, a tuff love guy who saved menE lives n he wuzn't a doctor or n-neeting like dat. N Ernnie not only saved lives but he showed U a nue 1 too. I'd tell U his whole name but we have 2B anonomuss. Ernnie saved Bud Fox's life n helped kill him 2. MayB sum of U peoples no whut I'm talking about. How U have 2 die 2 live. Seems like yestarday but dat wuz manE yars ago. Ernnie in his own words was a "gr8ful recoverin drunk", Ernnie liked 2 tell it like it wuz so he called himself a recoverin drunk not a alkeyhallick. Ernnie wuz a skid row drunk who got sober n turned his whole life around. Good job, wife, kids n famalee, a regular life but he always made da tine to help a drunk. On call 24 hours a day, seven days a week most tines. He always had tine for peoples who were livin Ernnie's old life. MayB Ernnie didn't no it but his job in life wuz a unofishole doctor evon doe I tink he worked as a pipefitter. So he may have fitted pipes but whut Ernnie did wuz save lives and change lives. He spent most of his tine workin in AA wid alkeyhallicks, n not in a hospital but in some of da strangeus places. He didn't get paid 4 it but I'm sure God will pay him 1 day. N-nee-way he helped save and giv more peoples lives then U can e-magein. He wood met wid peoples in church, in a hotel, a parking lot or home. He wood evvon go to jail n met wid people who had dun bad stuff or killed peoples when day wuz drunk. Day wood hold AA meetuns in da jail 2 help dees peoples. Bud used 2 go wid him, help Ernnie mak sure dees peoples didn't feel forgottun Bcause day dun bad tings, Bcause day were drunks. You choodn't pay most people 2B locked in jail, Ernnie did it 4 free. MenE yars ago Bud n I went to a Thanksgiving dinner dat Ernnie n all da recoverin peoples got 2gether 4. Dar must a been a hundred peoples or mor there, all waitin to hear da prayer a wise man like Ernnie wood say 2 and 4 all da recoverin peoples. I will nevar forget his words: "Dear God, Thank you for the the all the things we have and all the things we don't have". Amen Ernnie, amen.
