Money in invested in Dell has been dead capital for the better part 1999! I realize that this stock has been a great
performer in the past, but it seems that this performance
for now has come to an end! The last quarter results were
good, but yet we sitting at 40 to 42, and it seems that the
stock may not climb-up for now. I hear on this thread praises of Dell and how it took market share from CPQ', but this,
and the past performance may not be good enough reason to hold the stock. Some of us who have not been to the wedding have not want to go to the funeral!gg

Does anyone on this thread have any idea what seems to be the problem with Dell, why share prices are depressed, when
this stock will perform!

Thanks,

Yaacov

Hi Donnie: OTOT
Your gonna have fun with the house. We had visitors
last few days to our (partially finished) house. A family of 4 from Oklahoma. So they were happy just to find a place inside
to stay (haha). Much flying of model rockets, kites, stargazing, and computer game playing. 2 portables and 2 desktops, all Dells.Plus some
gameboys. Bgt 4 large (5 gal) trees and planted 2. Using real
peat-moss. And many ceramic outdoor pots from HD.
And strangly enough, interested in the stock market.
Which is easy to explain, just find some money, and buy tech stocks
Said to buy Dell, Qcom, Csco, and Rhat
As a result of reading the Dell thread among other things, and
I have some investments in the following:
Actu for 18 days +16%
Aol for 22 days +17%
Csco for 5 mos + 61%
Dell (last purchase)for 5 mos +20%
Jdsu for short time +61%
orcl for short time +14%
Qcom (average)+130%
Rhat for 18 days, +117%
Sunw for 14 Days + 16%
Ttn for 28 days + 75%
Txn for 53 days +18%
Vrsn for 25 days + 32%
Vrts for short time + 64%
Plcm (average) +40%
(also have some intc, msft,hd, athm
And Dell still appears to have the most rock-solid bottom and predictable future of any of these-although Qcom comes close.
In the true SI tradition I have left off all the losers(G)
But its obvious the market will have to go deep in the toilet
before I have to start selling to pay off the margin.
There are a lot more super-flyers out (rimm, arba, IPO's)
but 22 is actually more than I can handle. 14 at most would be better.
Regards
Sig
