JAPG -
A very good summary. We have conflicting information at present. One source, a prominant Canadian newspaper, says negotiations with Cisco are happening now.

OTOH, Wi-LAN issues an invitation to an OFDM meeting, obviously with the purpose of suggesting a non-Cisco coalition. If Wi-LAN is negotiating with Cisco, is this a negotiating ploy? Why bother? Cisco knows that's what will happen if there is no agreement.

As for the WOFDM/VOFDM debate, I think most of us are in the dark - the relative merits, especially after implementation, are unknown to lay persons like myself, except for a vague understanding.

And who's negotiating with whom? Is it really Philips negotiating with Cisco thru Wi-LAN? Who has the votes?

Well, it certainly isn't boring!

Regards,
Jim

From Europe ? I can barely detect an accent. Just joking.

Welcome aboard. Good points. Time to market is essential. If CSCO and gang does not wish to speed things up with WIN, the other 'biggies', like Nortel, Lucent, might swoop in for the kill.

Remember, even at todays new high, the market value of WIN is pocket lint for the big boys. Who here wouldn't take a one for one stock exchange with Intel ? (OK, wishful thinking).

Good luck all.
