This lurker especially appreciates your acumen, financial and otherwise, Mr. Chuzz. There is plenty to be thankful for.

On another note, I figured that the easiest way to get the ROIC figures I was looking for was to just go the 10Qs, pluck them out quarter by quarter, and make my list that way. It's curious that Dell lists its ROIC in the 10k's for 99 and 98, but not before that. Is ROIC a relatively new metric? I'm curious if any company has ever posted higher ROIC numbers than Dell. Does anyone know?

In any case, Dell's ROIC for FY98 was 186%; in 99 it was 195%; and the first two Qs of FY2000 were 189% and an eye-popping 260%, respectively.

These are exceedingly high numbers; I would like to know whether anyone is even remotely in their league.
