Miss. St. 23, Ole Miss 20 - 1999 Egg Bowl

I think tonight I saw the single dumbest call by a head coach/offensive coordinator I've ever seen in my life. With less than 20 seconds to go in a tie game, David Cutcliffe chooses to throw a fly pattern down the sideline (and into double coverage, although the QB made that choice) from his own 20 something yard line instead of having the QB drop to his knee twice and taking the ball at the Bulldog 20 in overtime. It cost his team the game. Absolutely unbelievable. I've seen coaches lose their jobs for less than this. The better team didn't win the game, but the better coached team did.
