Thanks Chuzz for the clear explanation. But what I don't get at all is 1) why put sales, or any option activity, aren't listed; and 2) how companies can invest in options (that is, in their own company) at all, since they have by definition the best information among the entire pool of investors. Why isn't that considered inside information?

Please forgive my lack of education if I have overlooked the obvious answer.
