Proton... indeed, Nortel has been the crown jewel of the Canadian market this year. Rumors have been circulating widely on the TSE that the company may eventually pack up and move south, but they have just recently committed to the development of 2 significant laser optics labs in Canada, so it doesn't look like they are going anywhere soon. It is also my understanding that the stock is poised for another split at $130 (I don't think anything has been announced yet, though). MW
