Ruffian, Thanks for the good post re Sun Tzu's observations on information intelligence.

According to Sun Tzu, true leaders are visionaries who succeed where ordinary people fail because they understand the situation and can act on accurate information immediately.

We Marines and others call this the OODA loop...Occurrence of an event..Observation of that event..Decision to gain an advantage considering that event..& Action to gain that advantage over the enemy...er..opponent.

He who has the tightest OODA loop can react quicker than his opponent and keep the initiative, forcing the opponent back on his heels. We call this "staying inside the opponent's OODA loop"...the ability to counter your opponent's actions before he gets his forces underway..."to get there the firstus with the mostus"...

From all the news I've read about Dr. J, he has mastered this art and will maintain the advantage. For all my concerns about the Chinese stealing whatever technology we show them, I have to remember that no battlefield or marketplace is static. Clearly, getting to China with CDMA is getting there "the firstus with the mostus."...jj
