backround: I'm a true LTB&H, LESS THAN 2% turnover annually over the last 12 years. I have my own valuation model that has allowed me to avoid risk, yet find stocks with high potential return. Average annual return over this time period is 37%/year. My current portfolio is mesured in millions of dollars. Long time lurker on this excellant thread. At 46y.o. I'm probably older than most of the folks on this thread. Obviously, there are many investment strategies that can be very successful. I believe,in general theory, with the gorilla game and have 20% of my portfolio devoted to it. However, I'm extrmely concerned with the group think on this thread. The extreme concentration in one or two stocks (even gorillas like Q) is a risky venture. I cheer the bravery of those who take the risk, but I fear that not all parties have truely weighed the consequences. Perhaps I'm the only voice that feels this way? But consider the following. Unless you personally control a company most of what you speak of are educated guesses. There are so many things that are out of your control. Further the real time GG has gone on less than one year. Though very successful, most of us have seen other strategies that have yielded spectacular one or two year returns. The real test will come over time --5 or 10 years. I respectfully submit that some prudence is in order. Any comments??? djw
