Hi Bill; I took the day off and did what every body else did, "went
shopping" my God there was a gang out for the specials today.
At 6am Wallmart was packed never have I seen it so packed, Target
was also packed.
I looked at the futures & dollar before I left and placed a market
order to sell my few puts. I held my short fund POTSX and will till
Monday or Tuesday hoping on a dip.
But my DVI was still up ( all three of em ) as for that guys vix
even if it was right it was by luck as he is comparing it wrong.
The dollar got us now..unless they intervene no body wants to sell
as even if stocks go flat as long as that dollar climbs they are
actually worth more ( particularly if you live in Europe )
The EURO is getting killed right now.
Man the currency markets are crooked to the hilt, and every one
just looks the other way.
If they step in and drop the Dollar you'll see these babies sell
off.
-------------------
Back to shopping there was not all that many computers in stock,
I think the PC box makers are getting together and we are going
to see higher prices next year, I got a deal on a HWP I couldn't
turn down Monitor & HP color printer tossed in..64 ram, 13gig HD
& 2 built in USB ports for $798 less 20%..my cost was $638 ,
and inside the box is a $400 mail in rebate
( if I take compuserve for 3 yrs so that's almost a joke) but I'll check it out and see what kind of modems they have locally, as
that makes the service about 10.83 a month.
Look out AOL or does AOL own compuserve now ?
--------------------
Even with out the rebate I can't buy the parts to build one from
scratch this cheap. ( I use to build a lot of boxes in my spare time but let it go 2 yrs ago they just got to cheap to make any margin
on ).
-------------------------
DVI is still up but weakened some, maybe we get some profit taking
Monday or Tuesday..but I can't see any big sell off with the dollar
still climbing..on top of that Y2K could play in our favor as
I think most foreigners feel we are the safer place to weather
the Y2K turn.
