WTO: Canada, China reach trade agreement ahead of China's WTO entry

TORONTO (AFX) - Canadian and Chinese Trade Ministers Pierre Pettigrew and
Shi Guangshen reached a bilateral trade deal which will pave the way for
China's admission to the WTO, according to government sources.
Pettigrew and Shi will release details of the accord at a joint press
conference later today, officials said.
The deal is expected to be similar to the WTO agreement reached between
China and the U.S. in Beijing 11 days ago.
Pettigrew said last night: "It's clear that China's entry into the WTO will
take place very soon."
