Business to Business, new IPO of a goods go-between company featured this month.
Updated: 09:30 et. Nov 26, 1999

ASD Systems' quiet period, the period durin which the SEC prohibits research recommendations, forecasts and projections of revenues, income or earning per share, expires December 6th, 1999.

Sony asked dealers in May to stop Internet sales of its products as it reviewed service and support issues, but recently the unit has resumed authorizing dealers for Internet sales, removing restrictions on its televisions, DVD players and camcorders. ASD Systems Inc. played a big part in making Sony's Metreon online store solution come together. ASD was sought out by the architects of the new Metreon center home page , EDS. The solution that the company created for Sony relies, in part, on Microsoft software, thanks in part to the Microsoft CEO himself. "When Bill Gates got interested, it was clear that we were going to build a solution that used Microsoft software," said ASD president Norm Charney.

ASD has done similar work for Sears.com, a site that boasts same-day shipping, refunds within 24 hours and a 96 percent fill rate.

Ariba, Inc. another Business to business company which IPOed in June has soared to a market cap of $ 9.3 billion, ASD Systems has a current market cap of about $700 million.

FOCUS: ASD Systems is a goods go-between. The firm acts as a middleman between companies and their customers, offering services such as order processing, fulfillment networks, call center networks, replenishment, e-commerce integration, and supply chain integration. The company focuses on providing services to Internet retailers. ASD Systems' clients include Sears, Roebuck , Toys "R" Us, HoneyBaked Ham of Georgia, King World Direct, and EDS Sony's Metreon.com

We come out of quiet period soon ... I would be expecting some very significant coverage and much higher pricing targets at that time
