I utterly forgive you Colleen... I can repent of being pretty easily riled... I can not repent of defending myself however. I was once in a very tight spot with someone who was convinced I had sinned against them. They wanted me to repent. I was not too proud to repent. In fact it would have been easier to just apologize and get it over... but I had not done it ! I asked God if it was a righteous thing to repent of a sin you had not committed if the other person really believed you had done it. I concluded that that would be a lie and being of the truth means we do not lie even if we think good would come of it :

Romans 3:8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

This verse convinces me that we can not say we are sorry for sins we have not done... we dare not say anything else about the sins we have done... I know I can get pretty rough with people.. especially when I am assured they are evil.

I'm sorry you got caught in the cross fire but you got sucked in to being a part of it...

If that had never happened to me maybe I could be mad or something... unfortunately I think I have made every mistake in the book more than once so I have learned that we let not the sun go down on our anger.. we repent if we can and have done wrong... and last and greatest of all... we dare not harden our hearts and hold someone in unforgiveness that has asked us to forgive them!

Luke 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

God does not forgive those who do not repent nor those who will not forgive others..

I forgive you and hope you forgive me for anything I did to hurt or offend you and assure you that was not my intent !

I went a little off the end when people started using evil means to get at me and that proves I am still human and stuck on earth :-}

It has been a good lesson for me. I may be a little too fond of my job I discovered. Very telling don't you think ?
