Mr. Naive, anything is possible but this split was timed perfectly by AOL. Internet stocks usually have done well during December and first quarter of the year. The reason. Holiday buying in December increases internet sales. Sales equate to improved earnings. I would be more concerned about a price decline in the 2nd quarter of year 2000. These are my thoughts from my past experiences.

My personal opinion - it already has at 77. May not move due to many traders going into cash due to possible Y2K jitters. It dosn't bother me none. NEVER SELL AOL. Unless you are just locking in profits or trimming a very large position just before a split. If anyone wants to sell me AOL for anything below 80 I thank you ahead of time. DUMMY!
