Hey guys, How's it going? I decided to drop in and see what kind of 'stuff' was floating around the threads. All I can say is: This place is dead! You guys miss Rocky ;) You guys also missed this link:fool.com The bullish argument is more of the same: pipedreams with no data that backs it up. The bearish argument is dead-on. Also, I had to correct something: << Since most software now comes on "cheap" CD disks, one has to have at least a "regular" CD-ROM drive to install the software or pay extra to get it on floppies. >> This is wrong. The CD-RW drive can read 'regular' CD-ROMS. This is why it is so useful, and why you are seeing a large proliferation of CD-RW drives in the latest PCs. Bobo Bear is absolutely right!! Great job! Two functions in one! Your SW distribution mechanism combined with a LARGE removable storage device. COOL! What I see more and more (on all the threads) is posts rationalizing the CD-RW infusion, and trying to fool everyone into thinking that every person who buys a PC needs both a ZIP and a CD-RW! Incredible, and dangerous. 95% of the computer buyers won't even know what the slots are for, let alone being sophisticated enough to take advantage of the finer points of ZIP vs. CD-RW. The fact is this: ZIP has lost. It will NOT be the floppy replacement. There is no market 'shock' which will change the trend that has been in-place for 2 years now. ZIP revenues keep on dropping.. Why would they suddenly shift upward? Other product lines (like CLIK!) will never take hold. The competition is too great, and a much better fit (in form and function) for the target marketplaces. Fortunately for you guys, there are still many 'newbies' that are fooled into buying this stock on a daily basis. (just look at the Fool boards!) This should help provide an exit point. Good luck, and have a wonderful holiday season!!! See you next time... kp
