Three consecutive historical highs in short internet is definitely big. The short interest here has flexibility, since it is not the same short interest we usually identify with retail shorts. I am not sure about the mechanics, but I don't think hedge funds have to worry about margin accounts or margin calls. Having to cover at some point in the future gives them a lot of flexibility and probably makes them less nervous. I don't think they are betting on Brocade having an earnings disappointment. They are betting on the uncertainty inherent in Ancor's price due to numerous factors, Ancor's managements non-reactive style, and time. I agree that one or all of those factors can go away in a hurry.

When the market share numbers come out and show the "realignment" in the FC market, we will rocket. A lot of money has been riding BRCD's "80%" for too long. Money is not loyal, it will find its way to ANCR. For once, I'm looking forward to BRCD's report. ;~)
