Kapkan - RE: "We believe Dell Computer (DELL) B/B$41 1/4 will announce, within the next 60 days, that it will use AMD's high-end Athlon microprocessors in its OptiPlex or Dimension PC lines.- Dell is the only top 10 PC manufacturer that does not use any of AMD'smicroprocessors"

Whoa! That would be something, if true.

"It appears that Dell still is unable to get enough high-end supply fromIntel"

Makes sense.

"While AMD is already selling everything it can manufacture, we believe such an announcement could give the stock a psychological boost."

If Dell announced it would use the Athlon it would probably be an even bigger psychological boost than whatever earnings AMD makes this Q.

With the current run-rate there is no way AMD can have all the top 5 OEMs (Compaq, DELL, IBM, HP, Gateway). For this to happen AMD should ship substantially more than 2Mu in Q1.

Kap,

I find this one a little hard to believe. This is major news; the other services would have picked up on it by now, don't you think?

Like I said in my other post, I can not believe production is this poor at intc to warrant these kinds of comments.
