Rendering stuff like cross-dissolves between clips takes 20-30 seconds each, and you can only run four at a time!

You can run 4 cross-dissolves at a time? I've been waiting on each one to complete before proceeding. Thanks! Though I'm not sure I can outrun the software even with a 4 run limit. I'm still new at this though.

I like the software. The folks at Apple prove once again their ability to take a complex process to its simplest portal venue. One caveat: Be careful when doing the music-over from CD. If you delete your last recording, you may not be able to do another one without closing and restarting the program. Oh, and rendering large format Quicktime files can take a long long while.

The computer is just plain nifty. Wish I could say the same for the keyboard and mouse. Can anyone recommend a suitable replacement with the same quality as the old ADB equipment. It's a shame that such a great machine as the iMac DV SE has maintained this minor step backwards in the quality of the MMI. And the USB cord is too short to.

Waaa, waa waaaaa... Other than that, everything is super!

Well, one other thing... not a complaint... just a thing. Before I first set up the programmed self start and shutdown, I had the sleep function working as expected. Then a few times it slept waaayyy early [right after I got up] even though it was set for the maximum interval. Now I get a normal sleep interval as programmed in the "Energy Saver" CP, but it never goes into deep sleep with the orange power light like it used to.

Running OS 9 as well. No problems. None. Zip. Nada. So, what's all the fuss on OS 9 compatibility? Is it mainly the Adobe Type thing? Some fonts do look a little smudged on the screen.
