Jim Willie,

As the person who introduced Qualcomm to this thread in the context of gorilla gaming, no one understands your enthusiasm more than I. However, we need to make sure we don't have unbridled enthusiasm. In that light, I'm going to put on the reins. :)

QCOM has crossed the chasm

A company doesn't cross the chasm; its products do that. Some of Q's products have crossed (such as CDMA and OmniTracs) and some have not (such as HDR and digital cinema.) It's important to understand the ramifications, the obstacles and the opportunities.

[Qualcomm has] enjoyed the full force of the tornado, and has begun to learn the fine game of bowling

To be nit picky, it's the other way around. Companies learn how to bowl before they enter the tornado.

anyone who ignores this opportunity of the decade will regard himself or herself to be a major jackass at some point in the future, looking back

I disagree. There will always be tremendous opportunities.

the only three known gorillas roaming the planet are supporting and ensuring the success of QCOM now... that is an unprecedented historical situation and event of primate evolution

If it's the support of the "three known gorillas" that makes the situation unprecedented, your statement is nothing less than hype. There are a LOT more than three gorillas roaming the planet.

Let's stick to reality and cut back on the hype, please. Thanks in advance.
