El,
It appears MC is taking a page out of Intel's old play book. No guidance to analysts, and thus no favorite analyst. That tends to keep expectations realistic or low, and make meeting or exceeding expectations more feasible.

The SEC has recently discouraged releasing information to analysts only. In particular, they don't want meaningful information released or revealed to individual analysts or small groups of analysts. They want meaningful information released on a more public basis to level the playing field. It appears that disclosure to some analysts gave favorite clients a head start on selling bad news. That's not suppose to happen, but we all know it does. Maybe MC is just following the law.
