LOOK--BT may buy it according to Steve Harmon

<<: What is your opinion of LookSmart? It recently announced a $200 million joint venture with British Telecommunications and expects to get 30% of the European and Asian markets for ISP services.

Harmon: LookSmart {LOOK} rose from being a no-name guide/directory to partnering smartly with major portals, ISPs and others to build out its reach. At $3.6 billion, the premium has been placed on the stock to fulfill the BT and U.S. West agreements, among others. My best bet would be that BT buys LookSmart -- the large telco needs it. And there are only three of these global guide companies worth owning for the big gorillas. The other two are Lycos {LCOS} and Infospace {INSP}.>>
