But I believe it is quite true. There is even a movie about it too called "The Harvest," in which a businessman or writer or something travels to Mexico where one of his kidneys is stolen by a black market organ ring.

The Story

A business traveler goes to a lounge for a drink at the end of the work day.

A woman in the bar walks up as they sit alone and offers to buy him a drink. The last thing the traveler remembers until he wakes up in a hotel room bath tub, his body submerged to his neck in ice. There is a note taped to the wall instructing him not to move and to call 911. A phone there on a small table next to the bathtub for them to call.

The business traveler calls 911 who apparently have become quite familiar with this crime.

The business traveler is instructed by the 911 operator to very slowly and carefully reach behind them and feel if there is slits or wounds in his lower back. Finding the slits the 911 operator tells them to remain in the ice and perfectly still. Quickly they dispatch paramedics to help the poor guy because the business traveler's kidney(s) have been harvested.

Kidneys are worth 10,000 dollars each on the black market.

Verification:

One person who later was informed to be quiet after calling the Las Vegas Hospital that transfered the guy back to Houston stated, "that these people know exactly what they are doing."

Also

Another person was silenced who's husband was/is a Houston Firefighter/EMT in Houston also for stating Houston Firefighter/EMT had received alerts regarding Kidney trafficing.

Is it real I do not know, but I got news for you, I do not underestimate anything when $10,000.00 is at stake. Nor do I doubt anything when it comes to the back market.

Hedck most Third World morgues, shantytowns, prisons and hospitals, if you investigate questionable cases of organ trafficking you'll find cases for selling of human body parts for transplantation. In many countries, laws fail to protect organ donors from exploitation.

Berkeley I believe are setting up an organization to monitor organ trafficking around the world.

Myth or fact .... Just be careful if nothing else.

:-)
