Chuck - RE: "The K6 ASPs should see a very healthy uptick this quarter - I am thinking the number should be north of $60 and possibly substantially so unless Intel collapses the pricing on the 12th." In case anyone wants these numbers, here are the selling prices of K6-xs at Pricewatch during the last month Q2 at weekly intervals. This may help some people make a better guesstimate of K6-x ASPs for this Q. Date means the date the price was updated.Sunday, May 31, 1999 Price Date K6-III 450 - $212 5/31 K6-III 400 - $165 5/28 K6-2 475 - $153 5/28 K6-2 450 - $99 5/31 K6-2 400 - $68 5/31 K6-2 380 - $66 5/27 K6-2 366 - $67 5/26 K6-2 350 - $47 5/29 Sunday, June 6, 1999 Price Date K6-III 450 - $210 6/05 K6-III 400 - $160 6/05 K6-2 475 - $150 6/04 K6-2 450 - $97 6/05 K6-2 400 - $67 6/05 K6-2 380 - $59 6/05 K6-2 366 - $66 6/03 K6-2 350 - $47 6/04 Sunday, June 13, 1999 Price Date K6-III 450 - $208 6/13 K6-III 400 - $154 6/12 K6-2 475 - $147 6/11 K6-2 450 - $102 6/12 K6-2 400 - $72 6/12 K6-2 380 - $55 6/12 K6-2 366 - $73 6/10 K6-2 350 - $48 6/12 Sunday, June 20, 1999 Price Date K6-III 450 - $212 6/20 K6-III 400 - $154 6/16 K6-2 475 - $143 6/20 K6-2 450 - $101 6/19 K6-2 400 - $68 6/20 K6-2 380 - $55 6/19 K6-2 366 - $66 6/20 K6-2 350 - $38 6/19 Sunday, June 27, 1999 Price Date K6-III 450 - $207 6/26 K6-III 400 - $150 6/26 K6-2 475 - $142 6/25 K6-2 450 - $93 6/26 K6-2 400 - $64 6/26 K6-2 380 - $57 6/09 K6-2 366 - $74 5/06 K6-2 350 - $35 6/25 In Q2, overall K6-x ASP, including notebook chips, was $67. The upcoming K6-2 533 would take the place of the K6-2 475 and the K6-2 500 would replace the 450, and so on. I stopped doing this when Q2 "earnings" came out and the overall ASP fell quite a bit. I realized trying to figure the ASP was futile when it was dropping so fast. But now that the ASP may be up for a change this info may actually be useful. The Register says only Coppermine prices will drop Dec. 12. In the past they have been accurate with AMD and Intel price drops.
