Skeeter, chuzz, didn't dell do a several hundred million dollar stock offering? why did they cite "ongoing operations" as the need for the money when they use it to buy back stock... Not to my knowledge. I scanned SEC filings for the last eight months, and have found nothing. Perhaps you are referring to the shareholder resolution to increase the number of authorized shares? it is also a very efficient way to turn investor cash into employee stock options - weighted heavily at the executive level. it is efficient, all right. efficient at parting investors from their money. If you are arguing against employee stock options as a method of compensation you will get no resistance from me. I think these gimmicks are outrageous and should be ended. If you pay a bonus, pay in cash and explicitly spell out the cost of the bonus. But if you are arguing against a multi-year stock repurchase plan, here I must disagree with you, provided that the purpose of the plan is to return capital to shareholders and not to artificially boost the earnings per share, or to dabble in trading ones own stock. I guess what I am saying is that these activities are separate and distinct and should be analyzed as such. TTFN, CTC
