Tench - RE: "I hear that Profusion 8-way chipset sales are growing at a very healthy rate this quarter. That means more sales of 550 MHz Xeons w/ 2 MB of cache at over $3,000 a pop."

Like always, Xeon may save the Q.

Some people like to say AMD's overall CPG (processors) unit loses so much money (or properly, used to lose) that they would like to know the actual amount AMD would lose if the profitable Memory and Communications units were taken out.

I would like to know the actual amount of money Intel makes from Xeon processors if it could could be separated from and compared to how much they make on the PII/PII and Celeron.

It's a good thing AMD's coming out with a Xeon version of Athlon next year. ;)
