Professor tekgirl will be coming up for tenure next year, and to get it will need a publication record greater than the entire career output of many of her senior colleagues...the ones who will be making the decision, natch. Can one say "hypocrisy"? PPS one highlight of the holiday weekend: on recommending Chasm to my brother, who runs a small wireless start-up, he cracked up and informed me that they had, in fact, hired Moore et al. as consultants, and had gotten a two-day presentation of the Chasm Group's theories, applications to their particular business, etc. Well worth the cost, IHO.
