I've also heard what it seems you have about the Vancouver exchange, but I think it fair to point out it is not the only exchange. I ran across (for instance) an article about a company known as MGI (Ticker symbol - MGI.TO for Yahoo "Get Quotes") and it was the most recent. I've not looked at the company very hard, so don't let me mislead you into thinking I know anything about. I do think, from what I initially read that it has an interesting story. I will find the link for you if you're curious. My thinking is that the American markets are very over-valued. Stocks are again moving up on news or momentum, momentum in my opinion which is unsustainable. Therefore, playing the positions short-term is essential if one buys into the idea that the present amount of momentum in the market is due for a good 'ol fashion correction. One may not get all the upside, but the downside is also limited by playing stocks in and out. I've just lost too much money having faith in the long term in companies with great potential, but poor execution. But back to the Canadian markets. I'm thinking that their markets are largely over-looked yet offer good prospects going forward. And there seems to be many more companies listing their companies on our exchanges which offers a player (I dare not use the word "investor" lest a person point out the difference) greater liquidity because of more volume. Also, one does not have to worry about currency problems. Just my thoughts on potential possibilities for future plays. I do not currently have any positions in Canadian companies, but do follow some looking for entry and exit points (those being companies listed on our exchanges). RIM ring any bells? Mike B. P.S. CPQ looks like it has bottomed (according to those knowledgable). It probably won't be a "quick-buck" play, but would definitely be ideal for an investor.
