Pacific Rim Mining Announces Luicho Registration
Completed and Regulatory Approval Granted

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA?Pacific Rim Mining Corp. is pleased to announce that it has completed the registration process of its option agreement on the Luicho project. The agreement has now been formally recorded in the Mining Registry in Lima, Peru.
The Company has also received TSE regulatory acceptance of the Luicho option agreement. As outlined in the acquisition agreement announced on September 16, 1999 (NR #99-17), November 25, 1999 will be considered the effective date for the terms of the agreement.
Extensive rock chip channel sampling is on-going at Luicho in an effort to fill in and expand the surface mineralization prior to commencing a 12,000 meter Phase I reverse circulation drill program in the spring of 2000. Pacific Rim will issue regular news releases outlining the results of this sampling program. To date, 1,600 continuous rock chip channel samples have been collected at Luicho, the average grade of which is 2.06 g/t gold. 1,177 of these samples were taken from a 1,500 meter long by 250 meter wide structural corridor, and the average grade of all of these 1,177 samples is 2.67 g/t gold. Detailed geological mapping of the Luicho prospect area is underway in an effort to understand the controls on gold mineralization. Reconnaissance exploration is also being conducted throughout the remainder of the Santiago III claim to search for additional mineralized centers.
