The hick misses his soul So much lost. The hick babysitted a neice this week. One of those neices that 'has never met a stranger'. Such a happy child. The hick tried to talk sense to parents and give indications that this might not be a good idea....such clues as, "If she gives any trouble, I'll jump on her until her guts squish out her mouth". But the child was willing to be left in my care....proving the misconceptions of youth. Despite protest, the parents left with 'big hugs' and a 'big hug' for uncle lee....which proves the total lack of ability to judge character by all involved....even after I explained shorting..... Uncle lee has nothing in common with the child other than he was 2 years old....roughly 120 years ago. Several observations about such a child....they never stop. They are very good at repeating words. I did discover the meaning of Baby Bach and Baby Mozart I did discover that there are many 'Cat in the Hat' books that I don't remember. I did discover that diapers no longer require pins. I did discover that puzzles have knobs to assist in placement. I did discover that a 'big hug' will make you go to bed in an easier manner. I did discover that endless energy is possible. Although, Uncle lee tried to be on his best behaviour, he was somewhat surprised at the 'one' word that the child uttered as the first new word uttered upon the return of the parents. Uncle lee explained trading, convertibles, IPOs, and many manners of trades. But, No , the the first word that the child cares to utter to her parents is the one Uncle lee uttered when the child whacked Uncle lee above the right eyebrow with one of the base boards to one of those wooden puzzles. After videos of teletubbies, baby bach, baby mozart, and various other things, they are lucky the child survived. As I see it, it says precious little about their parenting abilities....when they leave such a one in my care. They should be horse-whipped. And I shall miss her....for her rememberance that alive is reason for celebration. I forget that ,sometimes. lee
